This project started with the main focus of learning 3D texture hand painting. However, I couldn’t resist making it part of a little personal VFX project too. 😄
The mesh model comes from the great course by NHance Studio of Ruslan Shabelsky, which I used to hand paint the texture during my studies. I used Substance Designer, 3D Coat and Photoshop for painting the texture. https://www.artstation.com/shchabik3d
For the VFX, I used Houdini for the butterfly animation and Unreal Engine Niagara for the interactive grass, embers, and spawning all the remaining particles.
